Haiti Relief

Friends,

The tragic losses in Haiti are touching us close to home. As reported
Sunday, the United Methodist Church had mission personnel and relief
teams already on the ground in Haiti when the terrible earthquake
struck last week. Three of our people have died. They are Rev. Sam
Dixon, Executive Director of the United Methodist Committee on Relief;
Rev. Clinton Rabb, a mission organizer; and Jean Arnine, a mission team
volunteer. Please keep their families, friends, churches and colleagues
in your prayers.

We will be receiving special offerings for Haiti relief through the
United Methodist Committee on Relief for the next two weeks. Please
make checks payable to our church and mark them for “Haiti Relief”. I
understand that we were able to release $3 million last week for
emergency disaster kits… food, water, medicine, hygiene, etc. That
is just the beginning of what must be done.

Blessings,

Rev. Jim
